Expert Reviews

Introduction
Though on an expensive side, this Nikon D300 camera is worth every penny with its host of useful features. With a 12.3 megapixel resolution, this Nikon D300 camera creates memories that leave a lasting impression.

Controls
You will find the control keys all over Nikon D300 camera. On the left side of the viewfinder, you get access to buttons like quality, white balance and sensitivity controls. The control for Live View function and mirror lock is also included.
To the right, there is LCD control panel. This control panel gives one glance summary. You can glance at the summary without having to let you move the camera away from the face. This thus saves power to the boot.
Below the display, you will find controls for exposure zone and lock controls. Also there are common dials which help you go through options for Nikon D300 camera.
At the back of the camera, there is a button for selecting focus points, playback, zoom and delete buttons.

Key Features
The key feature of Nikon D300 camera is the innovative Live View screen. This advanced technology lets you capture images either with the camera held in your hand or on a tripod stand. Those difficult to click images become as simple as any ordinary one with this Nikon D300 camera. The LCD screen is huge 3 inches in size. Along with this you get 92,0000 pixels. They are four times more than the number pixels you will find in any other camera. This high resolution comes into play when you switch on the Live View screen. You also get advanced auto focusing and digital lighting. Nikon D300 camera shoots JPEG and RAW images. The cleaning system Nikon D300 camera helps the camera to be dust free always.

Performance
Performance wise, this is one of the best cameras, you will find in the market. It gives high image quality and is simply outstanding. Active D-Lighting, is a system which analyses the scenes that you shoot. Now forget worries about the image not coming out well in improper lighting conditions. This technique controls the light intensity and exposure, thus providing the right level of contrast across the entire image for perfect results.
3D tracking auto focus is another great addition and a good innovation. Activating this on Nikon D300 camera will lock on to subjects in the focus frame and keep them pin-sharp, however random they move.
In continuous shooting mode Nikon D300 camera gives 6 frames per seconds. Its shutter speed is 1/8000-second. ISO noise is not all a issue at all with this camera.

Conclusion
Nikon D300 gives outstanding results and is definitely worth a buy.

Introduction
This commanding Nikon D80 has a superb 10.2 megapixel sensor. Along with this, there is a host of editing and custom functions in this camera, thus giving you ample freedom to shoot the way you want.

Design
The design is quite similar to Nikon D70 though the dimensions are slightly smaller. Smaller means better portability and convenience in storing when compared to its earlier model.

Controls
As the design is quite similar to Nikon D70 camera, the controls are also similar. There are customized buttons for special functions. This makes things very simple. For example you can easily change the white balance, ISO and image size and quality settings without the help of menu.
The three dials of Nikon D80 camera are very useful. Program, aperture- or shutter-priority, full manual, full auto or any of six preset exposure scene modes can be chosen through mode dial. You can change the aperture or shutter speed with help of other two dials. Thanks to these three dials, manual shooting is a cake walk.

Key Features
Nikon D80 camera has a CCD imaging sensor. CCD sensor works by converting light into electrons. CCD sensor is known for creating images that are high on quality and low on noise. The CCD imaging sensor is powerful 10.2 megapixel. The images captured are in both JPEG and RAW images. While the previous Nikon D70 had only 5 area auto focus system, this Nikon D80 camera has an 11 area AF system. Greater the auto-focus system, easier it becomes to capture motion images. The LCD screen is also much larger. It is 64 mm. quite large!

User Friendly Aspects
The menu of Nikon D80 camera is very simple and easy to understand. Nikon has introduced a new 'retouch' menu. There is also 'My Menu' which helps you choose various options which you want to be in camera displays like playback, shooting and custom setting too.
The retouch menu is a great addition. Now you can edit your photos with this menu. There also exist ample choices such as resize, crop, red-eye reduction, filter effects or monochrome to make images come-out in their natural form and color. It also has an overlay option, which works with raw images. This option lets you superimpose one image over other.
Camera Pro software is included in Nikon D80 camera. With this software you can create your own tone curves as well as adjust hue control. Another fun option included is a black-and-white mode with options for virtual yellow, orange, red or green filters.

Performance
This is one of the fastest cameras. It takes only 0.1 seconds to power up and capture its first image. Continuous snap capturing gave 9 shots in less than 2.7 seconds. The 3D Color Matrix Metering II which is included is perfect. Images which are yielded are equally perfect too.

Conclusion
Nikon D80 is one the best buys from the house of Nikon.

EXPERT REVIEWS:
Introduction
Nikon D40x is another extremely impressive camera from the house of Nikon. Nikon is number one in the field of photography. This model is very similar to its predecessor Nikon D40.

Design
Nikon D40x camera is pretty small in size. It does not have a second status display, thanks to its small appearance. Nikon D40x camera gives you a solid feel and is well designed with a firm grip too, thus minimizing blurred and shaken images.

Controls
You can access many important features such as ISO metering, white balance and many others, by just pressing the 'i'button twice. Simplicity at its best!

Key Features
The LCD screen is 64 mm is size. The LCD screen also does the camera settings for you along with menu access and image playback. Nikon D40x camera has a CCD sensor. CCD sensor works by converting light into electrons. CCD sensor is also known for creating images that are high on quality and low on noise. The images captures are JPEG and RAW images.
Along with the CCD sensor, Nikon D40x has 3D Color Matrix Metering II system. the lenses are of course world class. But auto focus coupling pin is not included with Nikon D40x camera.
The lenses bear the AF-S designation. Even Nikkor lens fit in this camera. The Nikon D40x doesn't include an auto focus coupling pin. Nikon D40x has a very powerful in built flash. It is effective to 12m at ISO 100.
Its sensitivity settings range from ISO 100 to ISO 1,600, plus an H1 setting, which is essentially equivalent to ISO 3,200. Thus it surpasses most of its competitors on this point.

Performance
Nikon D40x camera has some image editing tools, thanks to the Capture NX software which is included in the camera. The shutter speed ranges from 30 seconds to 1/4000 second.
It performs very fast with respect to the shots taken. It takes around only 0.15 seconds to start, for capturing its first JPEG image. The time taken between two RAW images is 0.75 seconds.
Needless to say, Image quality from Nikon D40x is outstanding. Colors are perfect and even the shadows and various highlights are well captures.
Noise is hardly any problem in Nikon D40x camera. Even at ISO 800, you can hardly see any noise in prints.

Conclusion
To sum it up, Nikon D40x camera is a worthy buy!
